When my eighth school year of teaching started, I thought to myself, “There has to be a reason I’m back to supply teaching. I can’t be doing this just for the paycheque.” That’s when I decided to write.
As I said, this blog started in my eighth year teaching. Two of those years included home instruction students, five of them teaching contracts, all eight of them substitute teaching.
Years of occasional teaching has left me with an expanse of occasional teaching knowledge, and I don’t want it to be wasted on just me. I am by no means an expert, but I have been around long enough to pick up some tricks of the trade to make things easier. And considering students love to make things hell for a sub, anything to make my day easier was always welcome. I want to make this all public knowledge because these are the things I wish someone had sat me down and told me directly. Now I can sit down and tell someone else directly.
Questions and suggestions are always welcome!
